TUKU: The Coffee You’ll Keep Coming Back For

TUKU is one of those spots that just works. No unnecessary hype, no over-the-top gimmicks, just solid coffee and snacks that get the job done. It’s simple but always reliable.

My go-to order at TUKU? Kopi Susu Tetangga. It’s the perfect balance of smooth, creamy sweetness without being too heavy. Whether it’s a chill weekend or a busy workday, this drink never disappoints. It’s just the right amount of caffeine and sweetness, perfect for any moment.

And then there’s the Donat Kampung. Soft, fluffy, and not overly sweet, just the way a donut should be. It’s a match made in heaven with the coffee. I’m telling you, once you’ve had it, you’ll keep coming back for that perfect pairing.

As for prices, the Kopi Susu Tetangga will set you back around IDR 22,000. It’s a fair price for the quality, especially for a drink that’s comforting and consistent every time. And the Donat Kampung? Only IDR 12,000, which is totally worth it for a fresh, warm donut that complements the coffee perfectly.

What I love about TUKU is how uncomplicated it is. The vibe is chill, the service is quick, and you can always count on getting a good drink without the need to wait forever. It’s not trying to be a trendy spot; it just does what it does, and it does it well.

So if you’re looking for a simple, solid coffee experience with no fuss, TUKU is your place. You’ll get the same great coffee and donut every time, and that’s exactly why it’s become a go-to spot for me.

Master Dim Sum in Your Own Kitchen. Easy and Tasty!

I’ve always been a huge fan of dim sum. It’s the kind of food that feels fancy, but still super comforting. Honestly, I used to think making it at home would be complicated. But once I tried it myself, I realized it’s actually really simple, especially with the right ingredients. Here’s my go-to version using chicken, shrimp, and a few pantry staples.

🧂 Ingredients:

  • 250g ground chicken

  • 150g peeled shrimp, finely chopped

  • 2 tbsp tapioca starch

  • 1 egg

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 1 tsp mushroom stock powder (or any broth powder you like)

  • 1 stalk green onion, finely sliced

  • 1 small carrot, grated or finely chopped

  • Store-bought dim sum wrappers (you can find them in the frozen section)

 Ingridients

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

  1. Mix the filling.
In a mixing bowl, combine the chicken, shrimp, tapioca starch, egg, sesame oil, soy sauce, mushroom powder, green onion, and carrot. Stir well until the mixture becomes sticky and well combined.

  2. Wrap the dim sum.
Take one wrapper, add about a teaspoon of filling to the center, and shape it however you like. I usually keep the top open like classic shumai, but you can get creative.

  3. Steam.
Place the dim sum in a steamer lined with parchment paper or cabbage leaves to prevent sticking. Steam over boiling water for about 15 minutes or until fully cooked.

  4. Serve.
Serve hot with soy sauce, chili oil, or your favorite dipping sauce. Best enjoyed fresh out of the steamer!

Cooked Dim Sum

Turns out, making dim sum at home isn’t that hard and it’s super fun! I love that you can tweak the filling to your taste, and it still turns out delicious. If you try this recipe, let me know how it goes. Happy cooking! 🥟✨

When Smoke Fills the Morning: A Call for Environmental Awareness

Thick smoke filled the air in a quiet housing complex on the morning of April 26, 2025, after a resident was found burning household waste in their yard. The incident triggered discomfort among neighbors, especially since local regulations clearly prohibit burning trash within the neighborhood.

"I woke up earlier than usual because the smoke was so strong it entered my house," said one resident who lives close to the location. "It wasn’t just disturbing, it made me think about how much people still ignore environmental rules."

The neighborhood’s RT (community leader), Mr. H. Rahmat, had previously reminded residents not to burn trash due to its health and environmental risks. “Burning trash isn’t just disruptive to your neighbors, but it’s also harmful to our health. We’ve agreed to keep this neighborhood clean and healthy without damaging it ourselves,” he said during a community meeting.

Ironically, the area already employs a regular waste collector, making the act of burning garbage unnecessary. The presence of such a service was meant to encourage proper waste disposal, but this latest incident shows that awareness remains an issue.

Some residents are now considering launching small educational campaigns, such as neighborhood discussions, to prevent similar events in the future.

Although the smoke eventually faded, the impact on health and social harmony may linger longer. The incident has served as a reminder that protecting the environment is not just a shared rule, but a shared responsibility.

Icip-Icip Haka Dim sum = Love at First Bite😍
